VALD HumanTrak

Markerless 3D movement analysis. We measure how your joints actually move — angles, range and symmetry — instead of estimating it by eye.

Movement you can measure

Most movement assessment is a clinician watching you squat and forming a judgement. That judgement is often good — but it is not a number, it cannot be compared week to week, and two clinicians can see the same squat differently.

HumanTrak replaces the judgement with data. A 3D camera tracks your body through a series of movements while software calculates joint angles, range of motion and the difference between your left and right sides. No markers are stuck to your skin, no sensors are strapped on, and the whole assessment takes minutes.

The result is a baseline. When we re-test four or eight weeks later, we are comparing measurements against measurements — not memory against impression.

What it measures

Joint angles

Degrees, not guesses

Hip, knee, ankle, shoulder and trunk angles captured through squats, lunges, reaching and overhead patterns.

Range of motion

Measured through movement

How far a joint travels during a real movement, rather than a static stretch on a treatment table.

Left-right symmetry

The side you favour

Small compensations become visible — the hip that rotates less, the shoulder that travels further.

Who it helps

  • People with recurring pain. When the same problem keeps returning, the cause is often a movement pattern rather than the painful tissue itself.
  • Athletes returning from injury. Symmetry data shows whether you are genuinely ready, or simply no longer sore.
  • Desk-based workers. Posture and mobility restrictions show up clearly in overhead and rotation patterns.
  • Anyone who wants a baseline. Measure now, and every future assessment has something to compare against.

What a session looks like

You wear normal training clothes. You stand in front of the camera and work through a short series of movements while your physiotherapist guides you. There is nothing to attach and nothing invasive.

Afterwards we walk through the results with you on screen. You see your own numbers, what they mean, and which of them we intend to change. Those findings feed directly into your treatment plan — and into the re-test that measures whether it worked.
